Journal Prompt To Feel Better
Hello Dear Love!
I'm someone who has done shadow work almost all my life. If you're someone who feels better writing things out as a form of releasing just like me, this space is going to benefit you a lot. Especially this journal prompt that you can use to come face-to-face for actually understanding the root cause of your misery in this moment. Do it with all your heart and i promise you, you will feel better. Sending you a warm hug.
HOW TO DO IT?
- Make sure that you do not hurry at all. Take out 30 minutes of totally undisturbed silence. Put your phone on silent or airplane mode, close your laptop, no music, no sound at all. Only you, your thoughts, the prompt and your diary and pen.
- Do not rush with questions. Do not read the entire journal prompt in one go. Only question at a time.
- Read first question, get focused on your diary. Write EVERYTHING that comes in your mind when you read that question no matter how silly it feels, just write your entire mind out on the paper without taking any long pauses.
- Once you're done with a question, take 30 seconds of rest. During this rest, take a few deep breathes and relax. Then, move to the next one.
- You do not have to talk about this with anybody. Keep it your personal secret. But if you ever feel like sharing, just DM me on my Instagram or on whatsapp number available on this site. I'd love to know whether it helped you in any way.
- Important: During this time, if you feel emotional, cry as much as you can. Don't hold yourself back. If you feel angry, let the anger come out in harmless ways. Do not hurt yourself. If you feel like, you can shout, scream in your own space. Just safely.
- Let's get started. Take a deep breathe in and begin with your first question.
JOURNAL PROMPT FOR ANXIETY or TO FEEL BETTER
- What is that one thought that is at the surface of your mind right now? (Write the surface ones and then keep on writing until you pour all the thoughts on the paper).
- How do you feel when you think about this? (Write down all your feelings. Let them flow on the paper).
- Does this feeling come with any kind of threat to your safety?
- Does this feeling create any kind of fear? And Why?
- What will happen if this fear comes true? (Write from bad to the worst case scenarios)
- Will you be safe even if this fear comes true? If not, then why?
- If you're not safe, is there anyway you can protect yourself?
- What are you thoughts and feelings now?
- What do you lose in this situation?
- And if you lose it, do you believe the universe can refil your cup again?
- If not, then why do you not believe that there is abundance in this universe?
- Can these beliefs be challenged?
- What are you feeling now?

After the writing
If you're done with your writing, I believe a lot has released by now. I'd suggest another 30 minutes of silence. Keep your phone off. If you want, you can play music and relax for these 30 minutes. But i'd still suggest that you stay in your cocoon for some time. Avoid human contact just for this much time. Be with yourself. Hug yourself. Cry if you need to. Play soft music and just lie down with your inner child.
We need to larn that we are our own biggest emotional support. We just don't allow that much to ourselved because we're constantly looking outside for it. But now, when you have begun shadow work through journal prompts, you'll slowly realise how amazing and safe this place is. Because you are its creator. And you know how awesome you are, right? Leave me a message on Instagram or Whatsapp (number is available on website) for any kind of feedback.
I love you!
Mehak.
